“Parkitecture”
GIFFORD PARK homes incorporate ''Parkitecture,'' a term referring to the style of the buildings constructed in the National Parks in decades past. This style, created by some of the most-renowned architects of the 1930s and 1940s, features massive stone work, covered front porches, and windows with mullions, along with colors and architectural details to blend with the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Views
Views of Zion National Park can be seen from everywhere on all 9.5 acres of Gifford Park, Springdale, UT.

Reclaimed Wood
100-year-old timbers used in most GIFFORD PARK homes were reclaimed from the original railroad trestle, built in the late 1800's, to span the Great Salt Lake. The 12'' x 12'' timbers of Douglas fir, a dramatic reminder of early Utah history, are a striking complement to the impressive blocks of red sandstone. They provide a link with the past, when quality materials and expert craftsmanship were the standard. Other reclaimed timbers are imported from Canada where they were originally used in silos, barns and granaries.

Stonework
Stone masonry in Zion National Park began in the 1930's when the CCC was in the National Parks building bridges, lodges, guest cabins and trails. GIFFORD PARK has revived that style of masonry that uses massive stones and extraordinary craftsmanship. Over 100 tons of stone adorn each home. Huge multi-ton slabs of Navajo sandstone are extracted from a nearby quarry. From there, the slabs are hauled to GIFFORD PARK, where they are broken into rough shapes and sizes. Finally, with hammer and chisel, each stone is crafted into the precise size and shape needed.

Interiors
Many GIFFORD PARK homes have beautiful staircases, exposed beams, supports and baseboards crafted from reclaimed timbers originally used in granaries, barns, silos and the Salt Lake railroad trestle.
Hardwood floors, granite countertops, tile baths and custom crafted cabinetry throughout each home make each GIFFORD PARK home a masterpiece.

Native Landscape
Limestone used in landscape walkways and steps is quarried nearby. Native plants and plants propagated from Zion National Park are common in the landscaping of Gifford Park.
